Anne Vierela grew up in Richmond, Virginia. She graduated from nursing school at the Medical College of Virginia and practiced for 10 years as a labor and delivery nurse. Upon moving to Atlanta, she pursued her nurse-midwifery training and received her Masters Degree in nursing through Case Western University.
She practiced as a Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) for one year in Atlanta before moving to Lenoir, NC where she practiced for almost seven years in a small private practice. She joined COBGYN in 2011. She practices full-scope midwifery including routine gynecologic care and primary care as well as care during pregnancy. She attends deliveries at Tidelands Georgetown Hospital and Tidelands Waccamaw Hospital. She has attended more than 1500 births to date. She loves the Centering in Pregnancy model care.
Her strengths include childbirth education and lactation support. She has a special interest in working with young teens.
Anne is the proud mother of three daughters and four grandchildren. She is a member of the American College of Nurse Midwives.
