Health conditions can be painful, but for many patients, the most traumatic part of the healthcare experience is the billing-and-insurance-claims process. This process is notorious for time-delays, miscommunications, and frequent re-work of forms, records, etc. At Carolina OB/GYN, we want to ensure that the billing-and-insurance processes don’t spoil an otherwise favorable impression. We like to treat these finance-related activities as part of the overall patient care experience.
Carolina OB/GYN participates with many different insurance plans and will file for reimbursement. We not only help you file for insurance, but your interactions are recorded and conveniently stored for future reference, and processes are optimized for both speed and accuracy.
To assist you with billing and insurance, we encourage patients to familiarize themselves with the details of their health insurance plan regarding copayments, referrals, and percentage of coverage.
We strongly urge you to know what your particular insurance plan covers and be aware of your financial responsibility. If we process your claim and do not receive payment, the cost then becomes your responsibility. If you believe that your insurance company should have paid for our services, please review your policy and contact them. We will be happy to assist you with any documentation you may require to support your claim.
Note that many of our laboratory procedures are billed separately from your office visit or procedure. You could receive a laboratory bill from LabCorp or Tidelands Health Lab Services. If you have questions regarding that bill, please contact that provider via the number on the statement.
Please remember you are fully responsible for all fees charged by Carolina OB/GYN regardless of your insurance coverage. Any remaining balance after your insurance has paid is your responsibility. Payment is due at the time of service, and for your convenience, we accept cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover.
If you have questions regarding your account, please contact us at 843-651-6525, extension 5203. We will do everything possible to answer your questions and help you resolve the situation.
Thank you for choosing Carolina OB/GYN and for placing your trust in us. We view ourselves as an integral part of your healthcare team, and we are pleased to make ourselves available for any questions before, during, and after your visit.
