Introducing Your Carolina OB/GYN Patient Portal – It’s Safe, Secure, and it’s Free

March 20, 2019 by carolinaobgyn Leave a Comment

We all live busy lives–growing families, jobs, and don’t forget the extracurricular activities that seem to occupy all our free time.  We appreciate those things that make our lives easier. Retailers have made shopping simple thanks to the Internet and straight-to-your-door delivery. Grocery stores have answered the call through the convenience of online shopping and digital coupons tailored to your purchasing habits. Wouldn’t it be nice if your medical provider could offer the same online convenience?

Now, through our patient portal, Carolina OB/GYN is available 24/7. Through any internet-enabled device you can:

• Review lab results
• Request and manage appointments
• Request prescription refills
• Exchange secure messages with your physician or nurse
• Update personal information, and
• Print medical release forms

The good news is that the service is free, and your information is safe and secure.  Just provide your email address, or update the one that is on-file, with any of Carolina OB/GYN’s front desk staff. In turn, you will receive an email which allows you to create a confidential password that will enable you access to the patient portal.

“Patient portals are not for urgent issues. If your need is time-sensitive, you should call our office,” reminds Dr. Gayle Richmond. “If it is an emergency, you should call 911.”

According to Dr. Richmond and many healthcare professionals, a patient portal is not only convenient, but a way to continue the conversation outside the office. It allows patients and providers to form a connection and help ensure healthy outcomes.
