Anne Marie Vierela, CNM, MSN, has been affiliated with Carolina OB/GYN since 2011. She rejoined the practice for the second time in May 2019. During her initial tenure, 2011-2016, she is credited for introducing the concept of Centering Pregnancy to Carolina OB/GYN.
Anne received her Master’s degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, and her Midwifery training through Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing. Prior to that, she worked for ten years as a Labor and Delivery Nurse, receiving her Bachelor’s degree from the Medical College of Virginia.
Anne has almost 30 years of OB experience and has had the privilege of attending close to 2,000 births. She remains passionate about Centering Pregnancy and enjoys taking care of women and their families during this special time in their lives.
After a ‘brief detour’ to Richmond, Virginia and Durham, North Carolina, Anne is happy to return to Carolina OB/GYN where the smaller, more intimate practice allows her to form close relationships with her patients.
A native of Richmond, Virginia, she has three grown daughters and five grandchildren.
