Dr. Cynthia Bindner joined the practice in 1992, and along with Dr. Richmond formed what is today Carolina OB/GYN. A graduate from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, she completed her internship and residency at Northwestern in Chicago. In addition, she learned advanced laparoscopic surgery as it was being developed in the late 1980s.
This skilled surgeon, researcher, and clinician has been providing gynecological care to the women of Georgetown and Horry Counties for over two decades. A Fellow in the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG), and certified through the American Board of OB/GYN (ABOG), Dr. Bindner provides care ranging from obstetrics to gynecology; surgical to non-surgical.
Dr. Bindner understands that the practice of good medicine requires a balance of technological innovation, good old-fashion common sense, and compassion. She feels that listening to the patient is vital. Her philosophy, along with her commitment to excellence, has resulted in a patient base that extends throughout the Carolinas.
The daughter of a military father, Dr. Bindner grew up in Colorado, Texas, and Oklahoma. She is the mother of two college-aged daughters.
