
Kimberly Johansen, CNM, MSN, joined Carolina OB/GYN in September 2022. She received her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of New Mexico in 2004 and was board certified as a Nurse Midwife that same year. She completed her undergraduate degree in nursing with a minor in psychology at Purdue University. She is a member of the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM) and Sigma Theta Tau National Nursing Honor Society.
Kim, who has over 25 years of experience in women’s and neonatal healthcare, has participated in more than 1,200 deliveries. She is a staunch believer in shared decision making between provider and patient and is passionate about educating women to help them make informed decisions regarding their healthcare and that of their family. She practices both traditional and complementary care and believes that when utilized together, patient outcomes are improved.
As a former military wife, Kim has lived in 13 states. She is married and is the mother of three children. She moved to South Carolina to be closer to her two grandchildren. When not working, Kim enjoys gardening, cooking, reading, and most things creative.
